More from the park

This is from Seventeen Mile Rocks Environmental park and shows the largest section of the old crusher plant that is now for viewing only. The dangerous areas are fenced off and in the second level there is chairs for you to rest.

The green sloping part that goes above the structure is where fossilized coral was lifted up before going into the crusher part.

Where is the crusher though? Looks to me like everything coming from the green thing would fall onto the roof of the visitor pavillion...

From Brisbane Daily Photo - The building where the crusher was, has been modified with a roof and other things to be useful for visitors now.

Before the modification, the coral would drop down into an underground section and then go up another conveyor (where the long caged section is) where it would be transported to the cement factory.

They kept just enough of the old building to make it interesting.

It would certainly freak people out if they were relaxing and lots of hard coral hit the roof :-)
